On episode 250 of #TSRP we hop right In The News, as the publisher of Linda Fairstein, the D.A. during the Central Park 5 case has dropped her because of the negative publicity surrounding the Netflix mini-series When They See Us. This comes after she’s already been forced out as Trustee at Vassar College, her alma mater. Nevada has banned “employment discrimination” against those who consume cannabis. And YouTube has finally decided to rid it’s website of thousands of videos with “extreme views.” But do we really trust YouTube with this?
Then we move on to Blue Blazes, as a Coroner has claimed that a woman has seemingly passed away due to her use of marijuana. You can O.D. on weed??? Kwame Kilpatrick is in the news for his latest attempt to get out of prison. This time, writing a glowingly praise filled letter to Donald Trump. Do y’all think it’s going to work? Ava Duvernay, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King have all stated that they would like if y’all would stop calling them Auntie. So why is it so hard for people to stop? And in sad news, the rapper Bushwick Bill of the Houston Rap group, The Geto Boyz has passed away after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was 52 years old. His group mate, Brad Jordan AKA Scarface in a turn of events has decided to run for the city council in the city of Houston.
And in Sexy Time, we get news that there are a lot of Senior Citizens having sex in the city. New York City that is. The only problem is, getting these seniors to practice safe sex has been a bit of a challenge, as most of them ain’t wrapping it up.
Off to Proud To Be An American we go, as Pride Month has kicked off this June. Unfortunately, and predictably, it’s being met with rampant bigotry. We start in Boston, as the city has granted a permit for a “Straight Pride Parade.” And the organizers have just named their Grand Marshal, Milo Yiannopoulos. The right-wing provocateur formerly of Breitbart “News.” Then in Detroit, Pride participants were met with armed neo-nazis marching through the downtown streets shouting anti-LGBTQIA rhetoric. And United States Embassies around the world are reporting that the Trump Administration has barred them from flying Rainbow flags along with the American flag during this month at the varying embassies. Basically, America isn’t giving anybody of sense a reason to be proud right now.
