And after a group of young people shut down the Lodge Freeway in Detroit to perform donuts and burnouts, the viral video of the even has resulted in 1 arrested, 6 others being sought by law enforcement, the woman who posted the video now being harassed, and t-shirts being sold and songs being made. Only in Detroit???
We move on to Blue Blazes, where the organizers of the Straight Pride Parade called in a bomb threat over glitter. African American actress Halle Bailey has been cast as Ariel in the new live action Disney movie The Little Mermaid, and white people across the internet lost their collective minds. And Lil Nas X came out as a gay man. Prompting many to start trying to reinterpret his music. Weird I know.
Then it’s off to Proud To Be An American, where a Hawaii man went to his prison sentence hearing wearing black face. Do you think they threw the book at him? And Arizona Governor Doug Doucey has cancelled all incentives for Nike to move a manufacturing facility to the state after they cancelled the release of a pair of shoes featuring the Betsy Ross designed United States flag. Nike cancelled the release after Colin Kaepernick and many other complained about it’s connection to slavery era America, and it’s current appropriation by white nationalist groups.
