(Ep. 302) #TSRP “Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes”

Are we podcasting on a holiday? We for damn sure are, but we’re gonna get it in early so you won’t miss any barbecue or nothing like that. Welcome to episode 302 of #TSRP! On today’s show, we’ll be responding to some listener feedback before we roll right on over In The News, where the state of Florida has set a new record for Covid-19 infections a few weeks after their Governor Ron DeSantis declared victory over the coronavirus. Iran has issued an arrest warrant for Donald Trump for the killing of one of their top generals, Qasem Solemani by drone strike. And Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer is proposing new legislation to make police using chokeholds in apprehending a suspect illegal, and making racially motivated calls to 911 a hate crime. Do these measures have a chance to get past the Republican controlled legislature though?

Then it’s on to Blue Blazes, where Terry Crews has stuck his foot in his mouth again, this time concerning Black Lives Matter. Does anybody really believe that BLM is turning into some sort of nefarious black supremacy outfit? And why does Terry Crews seem to always find himself pissing off so many? An Amazon delivery driver quit his job in epic fashion, by leaving his delivery truck, filled with packages, and the keys to the truck on the side of the road. How do we know? Because he got on Twitter to tell us so. And students at the University of Alabama are said to be throwing “Covid Parties” to see who will be the first to get infected with the Coronavirus. Yes, you read that correctly.

And in Proud To Be An American, we’ve got guns, guns, and more guns! A wealthy white couple in St. Louis pulled out an AR-15 and a pistol on protestors who were walking past their house en route to demonstrate against the mayor whom they accuse of doxxing protestors. And a white woman in Michigan pulled her firearm on a black mother and daughter after a brief altercation at an Orion Township Chipotle restaurant. But then we get movement on the pro football team in Washington being pressed by major corporate sponsors to change the nickname of their football team. But will their owner Dan Snyder actually do it?
