(Ep. 314) #TSRP “Stop Playing Those F**king Away Games”

We’re back to talk about what happened over the course of the week in news, politics, and pop culture, and we get things kicked off with a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts. Then we check out what’s going on In The News, where here in the United States, we’re seeing an uptick in the amount of Coronavirus infections, but what’s really to blame for the latest wave of infections? Wells Fargo just fired over 100 employees for misappropriating Coronavirus Relief funds. California Republicans refused to remove “illegal” ballot drop boxes despite an order from the state Attorney General. And Donald Trump seems to have inadvertently confirmed that he is in debt to someone to the tune of over $400 Million.

Then it’s Blue Blazes time, where we find out how serious Cardi B was about that supposed divorce from her rapper husband Offset of the Migos. 48 year old Snoop Dogg records himself registering to vote for the first time. Megachurch Pastor Jamal Bryant is tired of the women in his church burning sage, calling it “Satanic Aromatherapy.” A Detroit woman on her way home from Las Vegas alleges that a man urinated on her during the flight. Bill Burr’s Saturday Night Live monologue has white women in a tizzy. And then one white woman, upset that she has to wear a mask at store proves the broken clock theory for Burr.

And in Special Hotep Unit, we’re going to dive into the newest member. Ice Cube, or should we call him, Detective Cube, has been promoting his Contract With Black America the last few months, and it’s been revealed that he’s been in talks with the Trump Campaign in regards to their “Platinum Plan” and their efforts to target African American voters. But he’s been met with severe backlash on social media, and he went on the Roland Martin Unfiltered show to explain exactly what his role was, and what his intentions are. But has Ice Cube made the same mistake that Steve Harvey, Jim Brown, HBCU Presidents, and Prison reform activist made in aligning themselves with Trump at a time where Trump has astronomically high rates of disapproval with the Black community? There are a few points from that discussion between Ice Cube, Roland Martin and Alicia Garza that stood out to Spann, so we’ll break those things down.

And because we anticipate this being a longer episode, we won’t be doing Proud To Be American today, but we will most definitely close everything out the way we always do, with our Champ of The Week announcements!
