After a month away, we’re back to do thing things the old Spann way. And we kick things off with a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts before we roll over into the madness that is going on In The News, where the Federal government has now allowed the COVID eviction moratorium to lapse, meaning millions of people across the country could be on the verge of losing their homes. The state of Florida has broken a record with over 20K new COVID cases in a single day. The new Delta variant of COVID is causing concern with the effectiveness of the current crop of available vaccines, as even vaccinated people are finding themselves transmitting the virus despite vaccination.

Then we’re off to Blue Blazes, where a Detroit woman tracked her car for three days via social media after it had been stolen, and you won’t believe what happened after she confronted her car thief when the Detroit Police seemed too busy to step in help in the matter. Actors Ashton Kutcher and his wife Mila Kunis set the social media world on fire when they admitted on a podcast that they don’t bathe daily, and that they also didn’t really bathe their children much either when they were infants. And rapper DaBaby has been dropped from the lineup at Lollapolooza for anti-LGBTQ comments he’s made at recent performances and on social media. So in 20201, we’ll be talking about how we STILL have people trafficking in this nonsense.

Then we bring back a damn near retired segment. Our Cheaper To Keep Her segment makes it’s return after Dr. Dre has been ordered to pay his now ex-wife $3.5 million a year in spousal support as part of their divorce agreement. And American Idol star, Kelly Clarkson has been ordered to now pay her ex-husband nearly $200K a month is spousal support following their split.

And in Proud To Be American, we get word that in Texas, the state Senate has voted to removed required lessons on Civil Rights. No longer making it mandated that students get to learn about icons like Martin Luther King Jr. Harriet Tubman, and pre-emptively barring any teaching surrounding the 1619 Project. Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig has stepped his toes into the political circle by announcing that he’s running for Governor of the state of Michigan, as a Republican. We’ll speak as to why many Detroiters feel betrayed by the announcement, and what it could mean for his chances to actually take the seat. And finally, was we talk about the looming housing crisis that could hit the nation with the eviction moratorium being allowed to lapse, we also find out that in America, those who have full time jobs that pay minimum wage can only afford to rent in 7% of the counties in all of the country. We’ll try to make sense of it all.

And of course, we wrap everything up with our Champ of The Week announcements. So let’s get to it fam, with the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME . Right here on The Spann Report!
