We’re BACK! After a much needed mental sabbatical, Spann is back on the mic to give you his brand of Blue Collar Scholarism and commentary on the happenings in the world. And we start off the show with a few of Spann’s Random Thoughts right before we get In The News, where in Oxford Michigan, a 15 year old kid by the name of Ethan Crumbley took a gun his parents bought him for Christmas to school, where he shot and killed 4, and injured at least 8 more. His parents have also been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Federal courts have put a hold on two Biden Administration executive orders concerning COVID-19 vaccine mandates. But in the midst of that, more than half of employers across the United States now require COVID vaccines as fears of the new Omicron variant grows.
Then it’s Blue Blazes time, where a DoorDash driver went viral on TicTok for suggesting that people who don’t tip their drivers beforehand run the risk of waiting longer for their food to arrive, if their food ever gets picked up at all. Which begs the question, should you be tipping for services not yet rendered when ordering food from delivery apps? Sabrina Williams, the older half sister of tennis superstars Venus, and Serena Williams says that Will Smith should be ashamed of himself for not portraying the full portrait of their father in the new movie King Richard. Is this sister being bitter, or does she have a point? A plumber finds nearly $400K in cash hidden behind a loose toilet at the church led by Joel Osteen. And the first thing Spann wants to know is, “What in the tax evasion is this?” Speaking of money, a Walmart store accused a woman of stealing from their store, but in a turn of events, the jury in the case awarded the accused $2.1 million! Talk about a plot twist!
We got some more folks INSIST on F*cking Around And Finding Out, and this week, we’ve got Marcus Lamb, the head of the Daystar Christian Network, a network that discouraged COVID vaccinations dying from COVID-19. A woman in New York decided to film herself attempting to get served in an area restaurant, and loses it when they refused because she’s not vaccinated, which is the law in New York. An Austrian man went to a COVID Party to try to build up his “natural immunity” and the party worked, if by worked you mean the man turned up dead. And Montana, a Chicago area rapper who’s been very vocal about his anti-vaxx stance concerning COVID, is now soliciting prayers from social media as he battles the disease.
Then we’re off to Proud To Be American, where Republicans are now boosting benefits for workers who quit their jobs due to their refusal to get the COVID vaccine. Republicans are also scrambling to try and change state laws that would make them exempt from federal vaccine mandates. Detroit leaders are calling for a sense of urgency as a fake landlord scheme is running rampant across the city. And it is now permissible for debt collectors to contact you via social media. Do you have options to get them to leave you alone though?
And of course, like always, we have our Champ of The Week announcement. So let’s get to it fam, it’s been a month, and we’ve got a ton to talk about. Get ready for the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME once again here on The Spann Report!
