(Ep. 263) #TSRP “No Take Backs!”

We’ve been dealing with some issues with the website, that prevented us from publishing the last 3 episodes, BUT WE’RE UP NOW! And we get things cracking with episode 263 of #TSRP with Spann diving into a few Random Thoughts before we hop In The News. And in the news we’ve got grocery and department store chains ALDI and Meijer joining the list of stores asking their customers not to open carry their firearms while shopping in their stores. The Muskegon Michigan police officer who had KKK memorabilia in his home has been fired after an internal investigation. An Alabama man has been cured of his Sickle Cell Anemia after an experimental treatment involving the HIV virus. And video game retailer Gamestop has announced that they plan on closing between 180-200 stores worldwide going into the holiday season.

Then we’re off to Blue Blazes where Wendy’s has decided that they will enter the fray with breakfast menu items, and taking the idea nationwide after testing out their breakfast menus in select stores throughout the country. The Blue Island Illinois woman who posted bond for R. Kelly to the tune of $100K got a rude awakening after finding out that she would NOT be getting her money back since Kelly has since been indicted with sex trafficking charges on the federal level. Ohio State Troopers pulled over an Amish buggy with a massive sound system, and a 12 pack of beer, and a cross eyed thief led police on a high speed chase after stealing a utility truck.

Then it’s on to Cheaper To Keep Her, as Todd Palin, the husband of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. But this wasn’t the only divorce announcement this week as, a Texas man also filed for divorce from his wife. Only with this divorce, she didn’t even know it!

We move on to Proud To Be An American where Candace Owens was called before a congressional hearing on the affects of white supremacy in America by Ohio Congressman R-OH Jim Jordan. And she did what she did best, totally derail the substance of the proceedings. Also as Candace Owens was suggesting that white supremacy isn’t anything to worry about in the United States, a White Supremacist was actually caught on video trying to set a synagogue on fire, and burning himself in the process.

(Ep. 262) #TSRP “Open Carry Is For Suckers”

powered by Crowdcast

Episode 262 of #TSRP gets right In The News, as Wal-Mart has decided to stop selling ammunition, and has asked their customers to no longer open carry in their stores. Kroger, the nationwide grocery chain has decided to follow suit, and ask their customers to also refrain from open carrying their firearms while patronizing their establishment. So you know the gun nuts didn’t take too kindly to this, but what does Spann, as a Second Amendment proponent think of these changes? Speaking more on the issue of guns, the state of Texas went through with changes to their gun laws which actually loosens the restrictions on who’s able to obtain a firearm, and where they are legally able to be carried. This comes at a curious time as Texas has been hit with 2 mass shootings in a span of three weeks. And in North Carolina, a judicial panel of three judges have ruled that the states legislative districts must be redrawn in two weeks because the current maps are heavily gerrymandered to the favor of Republicans.

Then we get on to Blue Blazes, as Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has issued an executive order to ban the sale of flavored e-cigarettes for six months. Vaping advocates have vowed to take legal action against the move. This sounds so 2019. A group of armed men went to a Popeyes Chicken restaurant and demanded not cash, not even the safe. They wanted to much talked about Chicken Sandwich! Guess they really didn’t believe Popeyes was sold out of em. And Azealia Banks is out here doing what Azealia Banks does, hating on yet another female pop artist who’s light is shining a lot brighter than hers at the moment.

And in Proud To Be An American, we kick things off with Tomi Lahren, as her “American Inspired” clothing line, Freedom, is found out to not even be made right here in the good ole U S of A. A Mississippi event hall refused to host an interracial marriage ceremony and cited the their Christian beliefs as the reason. They later apologized but is it too little too late. Speaking of religion in the work place, a 7-Eleven clerk was filmed by a patron of the store washing his feet in the sink near the coffee. He claims that because he is Muslim that he is just adhering to his faith to wash his hands, face, and feet 5 times a day to pray. Should what he did be allowed?

And then like always, we close things out with our AssHat & Champ of The Week Announcements. So kick back and chill out with ya man Spann as we go through the craziness of the week right here on The Spann Report!

(Ep. 53) #BNCPod “Draft Night”

powered by Crowdcast

Tonight on episode 53 of #BNCPod we’re getting it cracking with the first ever annual Beer N’ Chicken Podcast Fantasy Football League Draft! Shout out to the 8 other folks who are joining Spann and Cliff to get this thing rolling! But before we get to the draft shenanigans, we start out with our takes on the sports news of the week. We start with basketball ironically as ESPN commentator Max Kellerman says that Kobe Bryant never had a shot at the Throne of basketball while teammates with Shaq. Do we agree?

Then we hop into football as, Andrew Luck, now the FORMER starting Quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts deciding to retire during the last week of pre-season football. Colts fans were NOT happy about it, and booed the announcement at the Colts last pre-season game. But was their ire a bit unfair to a man who has sacrificed so much of himself to play the game?

Also, Rob Gronkowski has spoken up about his feelings about the game and his decision to walk away from it, are we at a point where many of the star players are feeling like in order to have a life after football, they may have to leave the game sooner than they’d like to? Will we see more top tier players retire during their prime? The fellas will ponder that thought right before we get to THE DRAFT!

Pull up a brew and some some lemon pepper wings and kick it with the fellas tonight right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!

(Ep. 261) #TSRP “Oh The Irony”

powered by Crowdcast

On today’s episode Spann is kicking it solo this week and we get right to the nitty gritty as we hop In The News, where Jean Cramer, the racist woman with the horrible wig in Marysville Michigan has dropped out of the city council race after the backlash of her “Keep Marysville as white as possible” statements caused a firestorm. Popeyes chicken is all sold out of its hugely popular Chicken Sandwich, and the workers are exhausted. But who were the REAL victims of this viral sensation?

Then we move on to Blue Blazes, as a woman falls off of a balcony while performing “extreme” yoga poses. A Florida man threatens his neighbors with a pair of nunchucks, but manages to hit himself in the head instead. And Dave Chappelle is out with a new comedy special Sticks & Stones on Netflix that has inspired a lot of discussion, for and some against the comic. Was this special the timely critique of cancel culture the world needed? Or was this just another example of a comic not being able to adjust the tolerance current audiences provide? We’ll attempt to dissect the reactions from both sides.

Then it’s time for Proud To Be American, where in Alabama, the Governor Kay Ivey is now apologizing for having worn blackface in a play while a college student at the University of Auburn. A white news anchor compared her co-anchor to a gorilla they were profiling during a news segment. She was later given the opportunity to apologize on air. And also in Alabama, one church is turning heads with a political message you wouldn’t expect.

And of course, we finish everything off with our AssHat & Champ of The Week announcements. So come kick it with ya man Spann this week as we run through it all right here on The Spann Report!

(Ep. 260) #TSRP “False Choices”

powered by Crowdcast

Here on episode 260 of #TSRP get ready for a marathon session, as we are joined by friend of the show, Ashanti, no not that one. Ashanti kicks it with us to get through the stories of the week. And we get things kicked off In The News where, there continues to be fallout over Jay Z’s joint venture with the NFL. There were many rumors that Jay was in position to become the owner of an NFL franchise, but how true were those rumors? While this entire thing is going on, many folks are now publicly speaking out in defense of Jay, while coming at Colin Kaepernick’s neck, but do we really have to choose between the two? We also get news outta New York that the officer who killed Eric Garner will be fired by the NYPD as a result of the killing of Garner 5 years later. Predictably, the “Police Benevolent Association” blasted the decision as a bowing down to political pressure, and the wills of “cop haters.”

We’re then off to Blue Blazes, where the children of Brian McKnight took to social media to blast their father, whom they claim turned his back on them. Brian McKnight then also took to social media to defend himself, we’ll discuss how fame affects how those on the outside looking in take to private issues of celebrities brought to the public. A Greyhound bus driver quit mid trip, leaving passengers stranded in Abilene Texas for nine hours. And in a Sexy Time Segment, somebody needs to hide the Viagra, as six senior citizens were arrested in Connecticut for sex acts in a local park. Maybe Shady Acres ran out of activities?

Then it’s time for Proud To Be An American, as a murder conviction was overturned in Michigan, after it was found out that one of the jurors used the N-Word during deliberations. We’ll watch his reaction when the local news shows up to ask him about it. Another video shows a mother trying to keep her 15 year old son from being arrested, after he threatens to execute a mass shooting while playing a video game. And a white woman in Arkansas held four black teens at gun point as they went door to door trying to raise money for their football team.

Then we close out the show with our AssHat & Champ of The Week announcements. For real this time, we got some. So kick back and relax with me and the homie Ashanti as we kick it with the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME right here on The Spann Report!

Then we get to the nitty gritty, as we talk about the fellas starting to review the Netflix series Last Chance U after a request put in from the fans of the show. (Ep. 259) #TSRP “Fill In The Blank Activism”

powered by Crowdcast

For episode 259 of #TSRP, we’re joined by friend of the show Cook, from the HIGHly Inappropriate Podcast! We’ll be catching up with Cook as she embarks on a new podcast, and how it will be different from what she was doing before. Then we get into some of Spann’s Random Thoughts to kick things off.

In The News, we find out that Jay Z has stuck a deal with the NFL to provide musical entertainment for the NFL’s signature events, including the coveted Super Bowl Half Time Show. After the announcement of this joint venture, both the NFL, and Jay Z have been getting a ton of backlash. But what exactly are fighting for now? That’s it, that’s all we’re talking about In The News.

Off to Blue Blazes we go as someone’s ungrateful son pushed his brand new BMW into a river because he wanted a Jaguar instead. A white man was arrested for spitting in the face of a black woman during a request for Slavery Role Play during sex. But did they arrest the right person? And a bank robber in the Detroit area takes his loot to the casino and wins more money, wait till you hear what he asks the police when they caught up with him.

The Special Hotep Unit makes a return after news got out that Tariq Nasheed has been banned from the United Kingdom because they say he’s not good for the public there. Nasheed has recently been doing press for his newest movie Hidden Colors 5.

We then go to Proud To Be An American, where two black prospective home buyers are shocked to find a KKK application and Confederate Flags all over the home of a Muskegon Michigan Police Officer. Speaking of the police, it has now been determined by Rutgers University that Police Violence is the leading cause of death for black men. And in Royal Oak Michigan, the police there had to apologize to a black man after detaining him for the crime of “staring at a white woman” Murica! Right?

We close the show like we always do, with our Asshat & Champ of The Week Announcements. So come kick it with us as we talk ourselves through this craziness here on The Spann Report!

(Ep. 51) #BNCPod “Show Me The Money!”

powered by Crowdcast

On episode 51 of #BNCPod we get ready for some football, as camps are opening up to get geared up for the coming year, word has just broke that Tom Brady will be signing an extension to his current deal that will pay him $23 Million for the coming year? Is this a thank you and going away gift, or is this really the current value of a 40 year old QB going into his 19th season?

Marshawn Lynch is catching some heat after an altercation with a Football Mom, who objected to his use of curse words while coaching her son. He asked if there was a man with her as he addressed the situation, which have a lot of people wondering if it was sexist of Lynch to present that question. We’ll go back and forth on this to be sure.

The NBA season is also slowly creeping up on us, with many of the major free agents having found new homes, and other key players having been traded. One player still looking for a home is Carmelo Anthony. Some folks believe that Carmelo is too good a player to be left out this season, and that a team should pick him up so that he can also get a farewell tour across the league much like Dwayne Wade and Dirk Nowitzki enjoyed last season. What do the guys think about this? Hell, what do YOU think about this?

Also in the NBA, LeBron James has been catching some flack about how involved he is at his son’s basketball games. Some have accused him of trying to take the spotlight away from his son, others say that he’s just an excited dad enjoying watching his son play. Are we really about to start comparing LeBron James to the likes of a LaVar Ball?

And finally before we get to Wing It, we’ll talk about some of the worst contracts in NBA history, who got them, and how they were able to fleece the league. So let’s get to it. Pull up a Po’Boy and a Purple Haze and kick it with your boys right here on The Beer N’ Chicken Podcast!
