(Ep. 362) #TSRP “These Dudes Are NOT OK!”

Spann is back on the Mic this week, and we kick off the show with some Listener Feedback, as the last show inspired some passionate responses in the feedback and on social media. Then we roll over In The News, where a mass shooting has happened this weekend in Buffalo New York that has all the signs of being racially motivated. Home prices have shot to the moon over the course of the last couple years, and now the state of Michigan is looking to step in and help first time homeowners with $10K towards the purchase of a new home, if they meet certain conditions of course. And Joe Manchin, the West Virginian Democrat Senator voted with Republicans in the Senate to block the codification of Roe Vs. Wade. The attempt being made in the aftermath of the leaked Supreme Court opinion looking to overturn the landmark ruling. And in a story that would typically be in Proud To Be American, in Georgia, their High School Sports Association has just voted unanimously to ban trans athletes from competing in girls sports in the state. But what drove this action, and why now?

Then it’s on to Blue Blazes, where residuals of Kevin Samuels still reside as Jamal Bryant, Pastor of the New Birth Baptist Church in Atlanta comes under fire for comments he made referring to Samuels, though not explicitly naming him. Shaun King has found his name in the news for all the wrong reasons again, this time he’s accused of scamming customers out of their money after they placed orders for a new clothing venture he started, but they have yet to receive their goods. And if you bought into the cryptocurrency hype during the pandemic, we hope that you were judicious with your investment as the cryptocurrency market has plunged by nearly 98% over the last few months with many people losing their life savings. Has this really been a pump and dump scheme all along? And technology has been improving exponentially over the course of the last few years. We now have the ability to pay for items just using our phones. But how many of you are willing to take it one more step further and get a chip implanted into your hand that will accomplish the same thing? A London based tech company is betting that you will.

And then we’re on to Proud To Be American, where in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott wants to go to the Supreme Court to challenge the states obligation to free public school education to the children of undocumented immigrants. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation designating November 7th as “Victims of Communism Day” in the state. And far right wing media outlet, OAN (One America News) went on air to admit the mass voter fraud story they had been promoting for months, was false after a settlement was reached in a defamation suit with two of the women they accused of being part of the plot.
