Mr. Spann is back with another episode of #TSRP, and we kick things off with a couple of Spann’s Random Thoughts before he roll right over In The News. And in our first story, we get word that many states as they begin to open up are telling workers to go back to work, or risk losing their unemployment benefits. The Chairman of the Tyson Foods company is warning that America could be seeing the beginnings of the breakdown of the food supply chain, and Nancy Pelosi is looking to protect the elections in November, by making voting available by mail as the country still deals with this Pandemic.
Off to Blue Blazes we go, as Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs has come out to say that “The Black Vote Isn’t Free” and that he won’t be voting for Joe Biden unless he presents a “Black Agenda.” Is he right? Diamond and Silk have found themselves on the outs with Fox News after having pushed Coronavirus conspiracy theories on their Fox Nation web show. Michigan State Representative Karen Whitsett calls out the Democratic Party after her COVID-19 recovery. And a west side Chicago House Party goes viral, and it’s sparked a debate around access to information in black communities.
We move on to Proud To Be American, where the Marine Corps has decided to ban public displays of the Confederate Flag among their ranks. The leader of the protest movement around Stay At Home orders in North Carolina has tested positive for Coronavirus. And a Louisiana Pastor defies his house arrest, and leads a church service with over 100 congregants in spite of the state’s stay at home order.
Then we wrap everything up with our Champ of The Week Announcements, so let’s get right to it with the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME right here on episode 293 of The Spann Report!
