Back again for another edition of The Report, and today we’re joined by longtime friend of the show Shermann Thomas or as some of you may know him from TikTok @6figga_dilla A now internationally known Chicago historian. (Read about him in the Chicago Tribune.) We’ll talk to him about when the history bug bit him, and how he came to grow such a following by dropping great bits of Chicago history, many times in less than a minute. We’ll probably end up reminiscing about some of our shared educational experiences, since we both attended the amazing Olive Harvey Middle College. So we’re talking with family tonight.
We’ll take a break from The News this week, and hop right into Blue Blazes, where China has just rolled out their new, and apparently more accurate anal coronavirus test. One of the Reddit traders behind the Gamestop stock rally says he lost $13 Million in one day. An angry maskless man denied service at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles comes back to rob the place. And why in the hell is Popeyes Chicken getting rid of the Cajun Rice and Green Beans? Nick Cannon just got his job back at Wild’n Out, and singer Ke Ke Wyatt found herself getting a bit of push back after saying that bi-racial people are often treated worse than black people.
Then we’re on to Proud To Be American, where the South Carolina Senate just passed a fetal heartbeat law that essentially outlaws most abortions in the state. Some of the Capitol rioters who allege that the election was stolen from Donald Trump, didn’t even vote in the 2020 Presidential election. And body cam footage shows a Hamilton Georgia police chief and an officer defending slavery and using racial slurs before going on duty for a Black Lives Matter rally in the aftermath of the shooting death of Rashard Brooks.
And like always, we wrap up the show with our Champ of The Week announcements. Y’all know what time it is, so let’s get to it with the Real Talk, ALL THE TIME, right here on The Spann Report!
